Compare Savings Account Interest Rates

Help with compound and simple interest project?
I’m working on a liberal arts math project, which essentially compares compound interest, simple interest, and CDs (using the rates of actual banks).
OCTFCU savings accounts earn an annual interest rate of .60%…I imputed the numbers in the simple interest formula and got a straight-forward answer. But how do I compute the compound interest?–Specifically, how do I find out the number (n) of times OCTFCU compounds the interest per year? Ah!
Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
interest + deposit=deposit[1+(0.6/100)]^n
n no. of years.

Interest Rates and Coupon Bonds in Quantum Finance By Baaquie, Belal E. $165.37 The economic crisis of 2008 has shown that the capital markets need new theoretical and mathematical concepts to describe and price financial instruments. Focusing almost exclusively on interest rates and coupon bonds, this book does not employ stochastic calculus the bedrock of the present day mathematical finance for any of the derivations. Instead, it analyzes interest rates and coupon bonds using quantum finance. The HeathJarrowMorton and the Libor Market Model are generalized by realizing theforward and Libor interest rates as an imperfectly correlated quantum field. Theoretical models have been calibrated and tested using bond and interest rates market data. Building on the principles formulated in the authors previous book (Quantum Finance, Cambridge University Press, 2004) this groundbreaking book brings together a diverse collection of theoretical and mathematical interest rate models. It will interest physicists and mathematicians researching in finance, and professionals working in the finance industry Provided by publisher. Author: Baaquie, Belal E. Demystifying Exotic Products: Interest Rates, Equities and Foreign Exchange $59.99 In recent times, derivatives have been inaccurately labelled the financial weapons of mass destruction responsible for the worst financial crisis in recent history. Inherently complex and perilous for the ill-informed investment professional they can however also be gainfully harnessed. This book is a practical guide to the complexities of exotic products written in simple terms based on the premise that derivatives are not homogenous, and not necessarily dangerous. By exploring common themes behind the construction of various structured products in interest rates, equities and foreign exchange, and investigating the economic environment that promoted the explosive growth of these products, this book will help readers make sense of their relevance in this period of economic uncertainty. Subsequently, by explaining exotic products with simple mathematics, it will aid readers in understanding their potential use in certain investment strategies whilst having a firm control over risk. Exotic products need not be inaccessible. By understanding the products available investors can make informed decisions ensuring features are consistent with their investment objectives and risk preferences. Author Chia Chiang Tan takes readers through the risks and rewards of each product, illustrating when products can damage investment strategies and how to avoid them, leading to suitable, profitable investments. Ultimately, this book will provide practitioners with an understanding of derivatives, enabling them to determine for themselves which products will fit their investment strategy, and how to use them based on the economic environment and inherent risks. |

Person of Interest $6.19 Leslie McHugh is married to an undercover cop. She thinks she knows what it’s like to share her life with a man who spends his days living a lie, who keeps secrets for a living, who trusts no one, not even her. She can see the pressure, the fear, the pent-up rage, and, worst of all, the distance growing between them that Craig promised he’d never allow. But what does she really know? Lonely, tired, and starting to drink too much, she knows that their marriage is on the rocks because her husband lives a second life she knows almost nothing about. When a thousand dollars disappears from their bank account, she wants answers, but before she can even ask the questions, their seventeen-year-old daughter, a real cop’s kid already on a collision course with trouble, turns up at the center of Craig’s investigation into a snitch’s violent death. Leslie’s had enough; she’s determined to get to the truth and protect her family—no matter what the cost. Again and again, Edgar Award winner Theresa Schwegel shows a remarkable ability to get inside a cop’s world—both at the precinct house and at home—making Person of Interest some of the most compelling crime fiction in bookstores today. |
